general gameplay question (newb)
hi good people! just started guild wars trial having had the dreaded 'error 132' on wow! couple of
confusing things please. i don't appear to be able to move out of the way of incoming spells (fire etc) and then be in position to return fire before another one is launched? - elf with bow. this seems very different from Two Worlds for instance. secondly, faced by two foes i can't run away without continuing to lose hit points although i might be already a hundred yards from the attackers! is this normal? thanx for any advice |

technically, you can manually dodge all projectile attacks, including certain spells. however, some are easier to dodge than others.
there are also spells that deal damage over time. |

Many spells are targeted on you and not your position. Some spells can be avoided if you move before the cast is finished, but some cannot. "Kiting" takes a lot of practice, but not standing still always helps in avoiding spells and arrows.
If you get the name of the spell, you can check on the wiki for information either by keying F10 or Help on Menu or visiting http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Main_Page To find out what is being cast, just click on the foe who is attacking you and his "name" and action will appear at the top of the screen.

Had this problem since I got the game 3,5 years ago. Think it's my bad Internet connection.
This happens if you get caught in a group of foes locking you down making escape impossible, but beacause of the bad connection you can see yourself running away, taking damage. You can get back to the foes by pressing Ctrl + c + Space. Then you target the nearest foe and you "jump" back, still taking damage and in most cases only to see you dieing slowly :S |

some spells are completely unavoidable. only few involve projectiles which can be dodged.

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Projectile things that can be dodged.
for the second question it does seem like you are rubberbanding. if you aren't you are just taking damage from a spell that damages over time, or are suffering from health degeneration http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Health_degeneration |
